Dark Opal is a villainous despot in Gemworld and an enemy of the hero Amethyst. Born to the House of Opal, he schemed to become the ruler of Gemworld so he could conquer other realms. In addition to being an excellent combatant, he is an expert in dark magic. Amethyst eventually lead the other Houses to overthrow him.
