Lord Amethyst was a scion of the noble families of Gemworld.

Born in the house of Topaz, he became the consort of Lady Amethyst and together, they ruled Gemworld. When their daughter, Princess Amethyst, was only a baby, they were killed by Dark Opal when he usurped their power.
